The project employs reclaimed water heat pump technology to recover heat from urban sewage. This develops a clean energy while reducing waste heat emission and protecting the environment. Compared with conventional energy or other clean energy, the reclaimed water heat pump system has advantages both in heat/cold supply efficiency and future energy cost. It produces far more environmental benefits than traditional heat supply method by saving over 36,578t standard coal, cutting emissions of CO2 and other carbon oxides by 95,834t, cutting emissions of NOx by 271t, cutting emissions of SO2 and other sulfur oxides by 311t and cutting soot by 223t. This technology is in line with national policies on energy conservation and emission reduction and a fine example of comprehensive energy use. It produces considerable economic benefit for the project and sets a good example for local emissions reduction and efficient use of energy.
